Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.
If you have come across this error, popping up in Windows every minute, interrupting your work, then for sure you already know how frustrating this is. Even if you have set up Outlook as the default mail client in Windows, the error keeps appearing. No matter how many fixes you tried, repairing Outlook and Office, fixing registry keys that you found on guides on the Internet etc, the problem is still there.
Well, it may sound weird, but the problem is not Outlook itself. It is usually caused either:
– by Adobe Acrobat Reader, even if you aren’t actively using it. It has a separate setting for the default email client, different from the Windows setting.
– a Windows registry key in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT section, that has wrong permissions, needing to be fixed
