Για την παραγωγή ενός βαμβακερού t-shirt καταναλώνονται 2700 λίτρα νερού, τα οποία συχνά καταλήγουν στη μεταφορά τοξικών ρύπων στους ποταμούς μετά τη χρήση τους για τη διαδικασίες βαφής.

Οι άνθρωποι που ζουν σε χώρες όπως το Μπαγκλαντές υφίστανται τις συνέπειες μόνιμης ρύπανσης του περιβάλλοντος και μολυσμένων υπόγειων υδάτων.

Στις χώρες αυτές οι γυναίκες κερδίζουν τα προς το ζην ως εργάτριες στη βιομηχανία ενδυμάτων.

Αυξανόμενος αριθμός καταναλωτών χαρακτηρίζει τις συνθήκες εργασίας και τις αμοιβές των γυναικών άδικες.
