Bucky Pizzarelli : Έφυγε από τη ζωή ο θρύλος της τζαζ

Μετά τον θάνατο του Μανού Ντιμπάνγκο, τον θάνατο του σπουδαίου τρομπετίστα Wallas Roney και αυτόν του Έλις Μαρσάλις Τζούνιορ ο κόσμος της τζαζ θρηνεί ακόμα έναν θρύλο της, θύμα της επιδημίας του κοροναϊού.

Την τελευταία του πνοή στα 94 του χρόνια άφησε ο αμερικανός θρύλος της τζαζ, John Bucky Pizzarelli.

Ο κιθαρίστας πέθανε στο σπίτι του στο Saddle River, του Νιου Τζέρσι.

Τα μέλη της οικογένειάς του, δήλωσαν στους New York Times ότι θεωρούν πως η αιτία του θανάτου του είναι ο κοροναϊός.

Θεωρείτο βιρτουόζος της κιθάρας στη τζαζ μουσική, από την αρχή της καριέρας του στη δεκαετία του ’50.

Αυτοδίδακτος, ο Pizzarelli το 1952, εντάχθηκε στο προσωπικό της NBC και 12 χρόνια αργότερα άλλαξε πηγαίνοντας στο δίκτυο του ABC.

He was world-renowned for his smooth, fluid, tasteful playing.

He performed at the #WhiteHouse for presidents #Reagan and #Clinton, and in #JohnnyCarson’s “#TonightShow” band, and worked with #FrankSinatra, #LesPaul, #BennyGoodman, #MilesDavis, #SarahVaughan, #TonyBennett, #DizzyGillespie, #NatKingCole and countless others.

As a session musician, he played on hits ranging from #RayCharles’ “Georgia on My Mind” to #BryanHyland’s “Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini,” and he also performed on #PaulMcCartney’s 2012 standards album, Kisses on the Bottom.
