Peugeot has announced that it will be unveiling its redesigned 2024 Peugeot 508 model on February 24th, 2023. This updated version of the car will feature revised styling, as well as a new plug-in hybrid powertrain that promises high performance.
Details on the new model are being kept under wraps for now, but Peugeot has released a short teaser video featuring the upcoming 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered (PSE). The car is seen sporting a revised grille with a new badge, replacing the traditional lion logo. While additional details are difficult to make out, the video shows updated wheels backed by a high-performance braking system with bright calipers, and familiar canards with new stripes.
Previous spy photos have suggested that this redesigned model will be a relatively minor update, with updated headlights and a revised front bumper featuring a modified intake. Out back, there should be new taillight graphics and updated badging. Full details on the updated car will be released soon, but it is likely that engine options will carry over from the previous model.
If this is the case, customers can expect a range of choices, including a 1.2-liter petrol engine that produces 129 hp (96 kW / 131 PS) and 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) of torque. There may also be a familiar 1.5-liter diesel engine developing 129 hp (96 kW / 131 PS) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque.
The most exciting model in the lineup is the 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered, which features a 1.6-liter petrol engine and a 12.4 kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor integrated into an eight-speed automatic transmission. This setup gives the car a combined output of 355 hp (265 kW / 360 PS) and 383 lb-ft (520 Nm) of torque, as well as a WLTP electric range of 32 miles combined.
