Christine Adams, a 19-year-old from British Columbia, Canada, moves to Los Angeles to be with her fiancé who works at a bank. When the relationship falls apart, she moves to Las Vegas and becomes a showgirl, where she meets Tommy Marcott, an African-American former football player and casino executive. They fall in love and get married, but flee Las Vegas after Tommy beats a wealthy patron who raped Christine. In LA, Tommy can’t find a good job and is eventually killed, likely as a result of revenge.
Christine returns to Vegas, becomes a V.I.P. party girl, and is convinced by a wealthy client, Richard Morgan, to be his mistress. Bored, she starts a romantic relationship with Jay Rigney and they plan to buy a ranch together, but the plan falls apart when Richard proposes to Christine. Jay convinces Christine to work as a prostitute with him as her pimp, but he leaves her and takes their money. After promising a skyfield employee, Elroy, “some fun,” Christine goes up in a skywriting plane and writes “FUCK IT” across the sky. She and Elroy are arrested, and Christine claims to be 22.
